Biography

Artist Biography

Bernard J Mwambungu is a gospel artist, worship leader and songwriter originally from Tanzania and currently based in Washington State, USA. His music combines African gospel influences, contemporary worship and faith-centered messages, carried in a voice shaped by both the sound of home and the congregations he now serves.

His songs focus on faith, perseverance, worship, hope, testimony and trust in God. Rather than writing from the outside in, Bernard draws on real-life testimony and biblical messages — the kind of songs that come out of seasons rather than sessions, and that meet listeners in the middle of their own.

That approach gives his catalogue its character. Titles sung in Swahili sit naturally alongside contemporary worship arrangements, so the music speaks to Tanzanian and East African listeners and to English-speaking congregations in the United States and beyond at the same time.

His mission is to spread the message of Jesus Christ through music, to encourage people during difficult seasons of life, and to inspire audiences around the world to worship God and remain strong in their faith.

The Work

Music & Ministry

Bernard serves as both a recording artist and a worship leader, and the two roles inform each other. Songs written for personal worship become congregational; songs led in a service find their way onto record.

His catalogue spans African gospel, contemporary gospel and praise & worship, with releases distributed internationally and available through UnitedMasters, Spotify and other major platforms.

The Message

Faith & Message

Faith, perseverance, worship, hope, testimony and trust in God are the recurring themes of Bernard Mwambungu's songwriting. Each song is written to be sung — in a service, in a car, in a hospital room, in a season where the words are hard to find.

His work is inspired by real-life testimony and biblical messages, and is offered as encouragement to anyone walking through a difficult season.

The Living Testimony

The Living Testimony is the music project at the center of Bernard Mwambungu's artistic identity — a body of work built around the idea that a testimony is not a story told once, but a life still being lived.

Further details about the project, including tracks and release information, will be published here as they are confirmed.
