Bernard J Mwambungu is a gospel artist, worship leader and songwriter originally from Tanzania and currently based in Washington State, USA. His music combines African gospel influences, contemporary worship and faith-centered messages, carried in a voice shaped by both the sound of home and the congregations he now serves.

His songs focus on faith, perseverance, worship, hope, testimony and trust in God. Rather than writing from the outside in, Bernard draws on real-life testimony and biblical messages — the kind of songs that come out of seasons rather than sessions, and that meet listeners in the middle of their own.

That approach gives his catalogue its character. Titles sung in Swahili sit naturally alongside contemporary worship arrangements, so the music speaks to Tanzanian and East African listeners and to English-speaking congregations in the United States and beyond at the same time.
